Kraków Door

Kraków is one of the oldest cities in Poland, dating back to the 7th century. Situated on the river Vistula, it is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, and the Old Town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kraków is the former city home of Pope John Paul II, before he was elected to the Catholic Papacy in 1978. Within the cobbled streets of the Old Town are hundreds of ancient doors like this, each with its own character and style. This one attracted my attention as being a particularly fine example from the city.
